Summary:[Display omitted] •Comprehensive CB[n] Chemistry Review: Synthesis, interactions, complex formation, applications, and future research directions. The cucurbit[n]uril (CB[n]s) macrocycles have been generating tremendous interest in the supramolecular chemistry since last three decades. CB[n]s are not only able to include different guests, but are also capable of coordinating to a wide range of metal ions. When the reader takes a deep look through this review; he will find full details of CB[n]s synthetizations, preparation procedures and detailed separation methods from each other, beside their physical proprieties, where; [n = 5,6,7,8 and 10]. Also, the reader will find more details and discussion of their ability to coordinate with wide range of the periodic table element cations including; alkali, alkali earth, transition metals, lanthanides and actinides as well. In which, a detailed discussion of their bowl-like capsules complexes, molecular capsules complexes, and simple based coordination polymers with the formation of some of their supramolecular frameworks through hydrogen bonding, ion–dipole interaction, π…π stacking, and outer surface interaction. Finally, multiple applications of these CB[n]-based coordination polymers and their supramolecular have been mentioned and discussed with various examples including; separation of different gases and elements, beside the elimination of other cations, and capturing of dyes and other similar applications.
