Summary:Problems of inductance calculations of advanced high-voltage toroidal armature windings made in the form of racetrack modules are discussed. It is known that a combined external screen consisting of a coaxial steel laminated cylinder and an aluminium conductive cylinder is optimal according to weight curves. Thus, variants of a ferromagnetic core with additional screening shells and their influence on the inductance of a toroidal winding located on it are discussed. It is concluded that the toroidal winding with two-sided electromagnetic screening provides characteristics which are similar to those for a generator with a drum winding of the armature.< >
