Summary:The behavior of period-one oscillations in optically injected semiconductor lasers as a function of linewidth enhancement factor is investigated. The occurrence of the dynamics is favored by large values of the factor. The dependence of the spectral features of the dynamics on the factor suggests a strong relation between the emergence of the dynamics and the preferred cavity resonance under external perturbation.
