Summary:Layered ice bonded abrasive tools (LIBAT) is a new kind of one which not only has the ability of lapping and polishing but also has the effect of self-dressing. In this paper, two kinds of layered ice bonded abrasive tools were designed and manufactured. Experimental studies on layered ice bonded abrasive (LIBA) polishing of glass-ceramics were conducted. The results show that the surface topography of glass-ceramics polished by micro alpha -Al sub(2)O sub(3)-nano alpha -Al sub(2)O sub(3) LIBAT is better than that of polished by micro alpha -Al sub(2)O sub(3)-nano SiO sub(2) LIBAT. The surface roughness S sub(a) of glass-ceramics polished by the two kinds of LIBAT is at the nanometer scale. The reasons of this phenomenon were analyzed. The experimental results illustrate that the LIBAT shows good effect and can be used in production practice. Sluoksniuoti ledu suristi slifavimo irankiai (LIBAT) yra nauja irankiu karta, kurie turi ne tik slifavimo ir poliravimo savybes, bet ir pasizymi atsinaujinimo savybe. Siame darbe buvo suprojektuoti ir pagaminti dvieju rusiu sluoksniuoti ledu suristi slifavimo irankiai. Atlikti gautu irenginiu eksperimentiniai tyrimai. Rezultatai parode, kad stiklo keramikos pavirsiaus topografija, poliruojant su mikro alpha -Al sub(2)O sub(3)-nano alpha -Al sub(2)O sub(3) LIBAT, yra geresne nei poliruotu su mikro alpha -Al sub(2)O sub(3)-nano SiO sub(2) LIBAT. Stiklo keramikos pavirsiaus siurkstumas S sub(a) poliruojant su siais dvieju rusiu LIBAT yra nanometru eiles. Analizuojamos sio reiskinio priezastys. Eksperimentiniai rezultatai parode, kad gauti LIBAT pasizymi geromis savybemis ir gali buti taikomi praktinems reikmems.
