Summary:This letter investigates the error probability of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS)-enabled communication systems with quantized channel phase compensation. Exact and asymptotic bit error rate (BER) expressions are derived assuming different practical channel environments and the presence of the direct link. The theoretical frameworks and findings are validated with the aid of Monte Carlo simulations.
