Summary:The changes in v 1 symmetric vibration of UO 2 2+ and v 4 of NO 3 - in the calcium nitrate hydrate melt of various water content, Ca(NO 3 ) 2 ●RH 2 O, were studied by Raman spectrometry. The vibration of UO 2 2+ in the hydrate melt was also studied by fluorescence spectrometry. The obtained Raman spectra were discussed in conjunction with the extraction results, which was the extraction of uranium(VI) from Ca(NO 3 ) 2 ●RH 2 O by a PUREX solvent. In the extraction study, an extraction trend change was observed around R = 6. This would be due to a change on the circumstance of uranyl ion in the hydrate melt structure, and was discussed with Raman spectra and fluorescence spectra.
