Genetic recombination between two strains of fowl plague virus: Construction of genetic maps

The genome RNA segments and infected cell polypeptides of two avian strains of influenza virus (fowl plague virus, FPV) have been compared by high resolution polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis techniques. Analysis of recombinants showed that the order of migration of the P proteins was different in...

Summary:The genome RNA segments and infected cell polypeptides of two avian strains of influenza virus (fowl plague virus, FPV) have been compared by high resolution polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis techniques. Analysis of recombinants showed that the order of migration of the P proteins was different in these two strains. The complete genetic map of FPV-Rostock and a partial genetic map of FPV-Dobson are presented.
