Summary:Kutsuna et al describe a fundamental investigation of laser roll welding of SPCC low-carbon steel to A5052 aluminum alloy. The temperature distribution over steel sheet cross-sections of joints produced by laser roll welding of SPCC low-carbon steel to A5052 aluminum alloy are predicted by a numerical simulation model. Aluminum sheets could be joined to SPCC steel sheets through the thickness of intermetallic compounds formed in the welded interface.
