Hydroformylation of epoxides catalyzed by cobalt and hemilabile P-O ligands

Complexes of cobalt efficiently catalyze the hydroformylation of epoxides in the presence of hemilabile P-O chelating ligands to give beta-hydroxyaldehydes in high selectivities and yields.
