Summary:The aim of the present study was to investigate seasonal variation of the polyphenolic compounds viz., gallic acid, catechin, and epicatechin in the bark of Saraca asoca by using reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography–diode array detector method. It was observed that epicatechin was present in abundance as compared to gallic acid throughout the seasons. In market samples epicatechin was not detected even in trace amount, but gallic acid was present in high amount as compared to freshly collected bark in different seasons.
