Summary:The paper discusses the possibility of a stochastic resonance phenomenon in the dynamics of test particles in the field of a Kerr black hole. Carter’s first integral for the longitudinal variable possesses a double-well potential. If appropriate external periodic forcing and a stochastic force are present, a stochastic resonance may be observed for the θ -variable. As a consequence, near-equatorial θ -trajectories lying on two θ -cones tend to mix between the two cones.
