Summary: | Magnetooptical dispersion in semiconductors in a Voigt
configuration has been studied in this paper. A space-charge
interaction occurs between two light waves due to the longitudinal
field component, implying the possibility of a new mode of optical
mixing in the infrared wavelength region. This effect can find
applications in wavelength converters, optical switches and logic
gates, where no power consumption is required. |
