Summary:The design of new highly efficient drugs for the treatment of various diseases is an important problem and a top-priority task in medicinal chemistry in most countries of the world. Therefore, the synthesis of biologically active compounds and modifications of known medications are being actively investigated. The solution of these problems involves the following two main lines: (1) computer-assisted studies of structure—activity relationships, computer-based modeling of new structures, targeted synthesis; (2) studies of the influence of crystal, polymorphic, and solvatomorphic modifications on biological and pharmacological properties. The review deals with the data on new biologically active compounds and drugs of such pharmacotherapeutic groups as cardiovascular, antiasthmatic, and antiallergic.
