Synthesis and properties of 3-alkyl(aryl)-5-(dimethylaminomethyl)pyrazoles

The condensation of 3,4-bis(dimethylamino)but-2-en-1-ones with hydrazine hydrate gave 3-alkyl-(aryl)-5-(dimethylaminomethyl)-1 H -pyrazoles which reacted with acetyl and chloroacetyl chlorides to produce 3-alkyl(aryl)-1-acetyl- and 3-alkyl(aryl)-1-(chloroacetyl)-5-(dimethylaminomethyl)-1 H -pyrazole...

Summary:The condensation of 3,4-bis(dimethylamino)but-2-en-1-ones with hydrazine hydrate gave 3-alkyl-(aryl)-5-(dimethylaminomethyl)-1 H -pyrazoles which reacted with acetyl and chloroacetyl chlorides to produce 3-alkyl(aryl)-1-acetyl- and 3-alkyl(aryl)-1-(chloroacetyl)-5-(dimethylaminomethyl)-1 H -pyrazoles. 3-Alkyl(aryl)-1-(chloroacetyl)-5-(dimethylaminomethyl)-1 H -pyrazoles were converted into 3-alkyl(aryl)-1-(aminoacetyl)-5-(dimethylaminomethyl)-1 H -pyrazoles by treatment with secondary amines.
