Summary:Decomposition of lithium carbonate with formation of lithium oxide in the flow of a high-temperature heat carrier studied. Atmospheric-pressure air was used as the heat transfer medium. The results of measurements show that the proposed method for producing lithium oxide is promising. In experiments, the lithium carbonate conversion into lithium oxide exceeds 70% perpass. A physical model for the process of lithium carbonate dissociation at high temperatures is considered.
