Summary:Clearly, school health education programs need to relate to school district requirements and state standards, just as public health educators, patient educators and corporate health educators have to operate within the guidelines of their work sites. Implementation of the coordinated school health program with its implied behavioral outcomes is an important vehicle for promoting the health of school-age youth, enhancing the visibility of school health education in communities and connecting school health programming to the public health world.
