Summary:The properties of ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) in the mixtures of FLC and quantum dots have been studied. The theory is modelled with well-known Flory-Huggins theory and Landau theory. The effect quantum dots concentrations and temperature on the pitch length, spontaneous polarisation and tilt angle in the chiral smectic-C* phase of the smectic-A to chiral smectic-C* transition has been discussed. Theoretical analysis shows the increase of the pitch length, spontaneous polarisation and tilt angle with the increase of concentrations of quantum dots in the quantum dots-doped FLC system.A qualitativee comparison between theoretical and experimental results has been discussed.
