Summary:Fisher's regression integral technique has been employed to evaluate the influence of rainfall on the wheat varieties grown at Jalgaon and Niphad (Maharashtra State) for a period of 22 years. The pattern of response is similar at these two stations and the two varieties in each station but the magnitude of responses of wheat crop grown in the heavy black soil of Jalgaon is higher than that of the medium black soil of Niphad. These studies support the current views of physiologists and agronomists and incidentally have also brought out some of the lacunae in an earlier analysis.
