Low frequency surface acoustic waves propagating in a system of n anisotropic layers on an anisotropic substrate

Propagation of surface acoustic waves in a system of n anisotropic layers on a semi-infinite anisotropic substrate is considered. In the limit when the wavelength is large compared to the total thickness of the layers, the dispersion relation for surface waves is derived. The dispersion relation agr...

Summary:Propagation of surface acoustic waves in a system of n anisotropic layers on a semi-infinite anisotropic substrate is considered. In the limit when the wavelength is large compared to the total thickness of the layers, the dispersion relation for surface waves is derived. The dispersion relation agrees with the one-layer case and the case of isotropic media studied elsewhere. Possible applications of the results obtained are discussed.
