Summary:This paper introduces the special issue on The Changing Spatialities of The Knowledge Economy in China in the International Journal of Urban Sciences in 2023. It begins with the introduction of the motivation of this special issue, arguing that it is both timely and necessary to analyse the changing spatialities of the knowledge economy in China where knowledge economy and innovation-driven development have gained growing attention in recent years. It then provides a critical review on innovation networks at different geographical scales and the rise of urban innovation space, which are conceived as two important perspectives to understand the changing spatialities of China's knowledge economy. The main contents and contributions of the six papers in this special issue are then briefly discussed, which is followed by a short conclusion.
