Summary: | In this paper, I stress the role of the numerical tools for any theoretical predictions in the field of particle physics due to the difficult and complex computation of the different observable related to the different processes. Being one of the contributors to the program Phantom, I chose it as a prototype to shed light on the main features of the Monte Carlo event generators and how they work. I tried to keep the presentation as simple as possible, avoiding as many technical difficulties as possible, to make this short review accessible to a large number of undergraduate students. It can serve as a good starting point with plenty of references for those who want to deepen their knowledge in the subject. |
