Summary:We report on structural and magnetic properties of Co–Cu–P granular layers, prepared by an inorganic sol–gel process. The structural properties were investigated using X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Structural characterisation confirmed the polycrystalline nature of the layers. The compounds present in these layers are Na 3Co 9(PO 4) 7, NaNO 3 and NaCl salts. At room temperature, the magnetic properties of the layers show an evolution of hysteresis loops with the concentration of copper.
