The single spin properties of multiple-pulse NMR responses: The WAHUHA-4 and MREV-8 sequences

An exact treatment of the evolution of a spin system of which the NMR Hamiltonian is composed solely of terms linear in the spin operators, while subject to the WAHUHA-4 and MREV-8 pulse sequences in the delta pulse limit and in the finite pulse width situation, is reported. Several characteristics...

Summary:An exact treatment of the evolution of a spin system of which the NMR Hamiltonian is composed solely of terms linear in the spin operators, while subject to the WAHUHA-4 and MREV-8 pulse sequences in the delta pulse limit and in the finite pulse width situation, is reported. Several characteristics of the scale factor and signal and pedestal intensities as a function of the offset sign and magnitude as well as of various preparation and detection modes are derived and compared with results from the average Hamiltonian approach where available.
