Summary: | Polycrystalline lithium nitridocobaltate Li2.5Co0.5N was prepared by solid-state reaction. Both field-cooled (FC) and zero-field-cooled (ZFC) magnetization were measured, in which irreversibility between the ZFC and FC processes was observed and the freezing temperature (Tf) shifted to low temperature with increasing of the applied field. This indicates lack of long range magnetic order in Li2.5Co0.5N.We studied the effect of frequency on the ac susceptibility. It was found out that there was a peak and the peak position shifting with the frequency. A criterion parameter delta, DeltaT'/[T'Deltalogv], is calculated to be 0.04(1) based the experimental data. The observed magnetic behavior indicates a spin-glass ground state in Li2.5Co0.5N. |
