Nematic liquid crystals induce and amplify the circularly polarized luminescence of chiral TADF emitters

This work reports a simple strategy that induces and amplifies the luminescence dissymmetry factor ( g lum ) of chiral thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitters by co-assembly with liquid crystals. Large g lum values of +7.26 × 10 −2 and −5.45 × 10 −2 were obtained for FAC-PDMLM and PXZ-PDML...

Summary:This work reports a simple strategy that induces and amplifies the luminescence dissymmetry factor ( g lum ) of chiral thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitters by co-assembly with liquid crystals. Large g lum values of +7.26 × 10 −2 and −5.45 × 10 −2 were obtained for FAC-PDMLM and PXZ-PDMLM, respectively. High luminescence dissymmetry factors of +7.26 × 10 −2 and −5.45 × 10 −2 of chiral thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitters were obtained by co-assembly with achiral liquid crystal molecules.
