Summary:[...] we would like to point out that when we tested the new splash and sheet erosion equation using independent data from experiments with five rainfall intensity on three rangeland plots (as shown in Fig. 5 of the original paper), the results showed that the new equation worked quite well for that set of data. Since the publication of our paper, application of the model to several other multi-intensity rainfall experiments on rangelands have shown the equation to represent the data quite well, and further publication of that data are anticipated.
