Summary:Permanent magnet synchronous motor is employed in wide applications because of its high power density. However, due to the continuous running of the motor the rotor temperature will get increased and hence the rotor flux linkage will be reduced. So the parameters like rotor flux linkage, torque and voltage distortion has to be estimated in order to increase the performance of the drive. Fuzzy logic controller is used for the control of torque. Fuzzy logic controller employed here mainly to reduce the ripple present in the torque waveform and also to increase the static and dynamic performance of the system. In order to find the temperature of the motor a pair of thermocouple is placed on the either sides of the stator. The main aim of the proposed project is to improve the performance and efficiency of the drive with the controlled ripple free torque.
