Summary:This paper presents an image capture and storage module (ICSM) system for capturing image data displayed on a TV and storing the captured image in a memory card without degrading the image quality based on an existing multimedia playback system (MMPS). The ICSM system consists of a capture bridge and storage bridge module. First, the capture bridge module, designed using FPGA, captures the image data displayed on the TV, then transforms the captured image data into a signal acceptable to the processor. Thereafter, the storage bridge module, including a multimedia processor, stores the image data received from the capture bridge module in a memory card after JPEG compression. The efficiency of the ICSM system based on application to an actual TV system with a 1280/spl times/720 resolution is verified through hardware implementation.
