Summary:Abstract In order to clarify the distribution law of the ultraviolet photon field in gas insulated switchgear busbar, meanwhile to correct the detection range of the ultraviolet sensor, the optical model of the gas insulated switchgear busbar based on the uniform theory of diffraction is proposed based on ray tracing. the distributions of the radiation ultraviolet fields are calculated when partial discharge occurs at the key positions such as basin insulator and conductor. Based on the average irradiance, maximum irradiance, and attenuation characteristics, the distribution law in the busbar is further analyzed, which provides a new method to confirm the location of ultraviolet sensors.
