Summary:Abstract Charge structure, which can instantly release much energy, is a significant research point in explosive protection and warhead. A nonaxisymmetric directional-focusing warhead based on a quadrangular charge structure was designed, and the distribution of fragments from the warhead involved was studied. Numerical calculation research was carried out based on the ABAQUS finite element calculation software. The witness targets of fragments were obtained from an equal-scale explosion experiment, which provided experimental support for numerical simulation research. The results show that the nonaxisymmetric directional-focusing charge structure has a coupling effect on the directional and focusing of the fragments, and the fragments can form a concentrated damaging area. In this paper, the fragments distribution of the nonaxisymmetric directional-focusing warhead was obtained, and the damaging effect of the warhead involved was verified, which provides a foundation for the design and application of the nonaxisymmetric directional-focusing warhead.
