Summary:Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the life quality and related factors of patients with chronic hepatitis B and C who admitted to the Infectious Diseases Clinic of Erciyes University Medical Faculty Hospital. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a total of 234 patients with chronic hepatitis B and C between December 2016 and June 2017 were included. The questionnaire consisted of 16 sociodemographic questions and SF-36 life quality form. Results: The average age of 234 participants was 53.4±13.2 (minimum: 19, maximum: 84) years. 19.7% of the participants were hepatitis B carriers, 44.0% were chronic hepatitis B and 36.3% were chronic hepatitis C patients. Life quality scores were found to be significantly lower in patients with hepatitis C, in women, the elderly, those with low educational and economic status, and those who did not work, who had an additional disease and who did not perform regular physical activity. Conclusion: Social arrangements to improve life quality especially for women, the elderly, individuals with lower education and economic status, some economic improvements in the treatment process and encouraging patients to physical activity may be beneficial.
