Summary:We document the geographical distribution of 6 species of Sciomyzidae from the Pantanal biome of Brazil. The species were collected in aquatic or semi-aquatic habitats from Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. Sepedomerus bipuncticeps (Malloch, 1933) and Sepedonea canabravana Knutson & Bredt, 1976 are new records from Mato Grosso and Sepedonea lindneri (Hendel, 1932), Sepedonea telson (Steyskal, 1951), Sepedonea veredae Freidberg, 1991, and Thecomyia limbata (Wiedemann, 1819) from Mato Grosso do Sul. Photographs of collection areas, the habitus of adults, and a distribution map of the species are provided.
