Summary: | Abstract
NPP start-up boiler houses can be used to reserve the station’s own needs and increase its economic efficiency when used together with an additional steam turbine. The result is achieved due to the fact that a multifunctional steam turbine can provide power supply for the NPP’s own needs by using the afterheat of the reactor core. The start-up boiler house can be a reserve source of steam for a multifunctional steam turbine. At the same time, the multifunctional turbine in combination with the start-up boiler house can effectively operate in the normal mode to generate additional electricity for the power system. In this article, the reliability of the auxiliary needs reserve of nuclear power plants based on a multifunctional steam turbine and a start-up boiler house has been investigated. The economic effect of improving NPP safety is calculated as an annual reduction in the risk of damage from accidents with damage to the reactor core. |
