Summary:The results which strongly confirm the existence of dynamic equilibrium 50S-30S ⇌ 50S + 30S in ribosomal systems of E. Coli and Bac. coagulans are presented. A method has been devised which permitted to determine quantitatively the detailed composition of the reaction mixture of ribosomal subparticles and evaluate the equilibrium constant. The analysis of equilibrium ribosomal systems of E. coli and Bac. coagulans at different temperatures allowed evaluation of appropriate thermodynamic parameters. In particular, the free energy of dissociation was shown to be higher in the case of thennophilic Bac. coagulans rihosomes.
