Summary:The present paper describes experiments on the evenness variation test for silk utilizing a newly developed electric device. The effects of small changes in local size and the gradual reduction in diameter which occurs naturally were eliminated by the present statistical method of data processing. The drived points based on a correlation factor were compared with actual seriplane tests and showed good agreement. This means that the seriplane test to measure the evenness variation of silk may be replaced by the present method using the electric device in combination with statistical data processing.
