Summary:A method for structural response data reconstruction based on a generalized orthogonal polynomial function is presented in this paper. The method can be used to generate the displacement and velocity responses from the measurements of acceleration responses. And it can also be utilized to obtain the displacement and velocity responses from the measurements of strain responses. Two numerical examples are used to illustrate the correctness and accuracy of the proposed method. The proposed method is further verified by a field measurement of Canton Tower. The displacement time histories generated from the measured acceleration are found to agree well with the displacement time histories from global position system measurement.
