Summary:A new square wave anodic adsorptive stripping voltammetric method was developed to determine the cefpodoxime proxetil (CP) in pharmaceutics. A pencil graphite electrode was used as the electrode for direct electrochemical quantification of CP. pH 3.0, accumulation time 15 s, and accumulation potential 0.0 V were found as the optimum experimental conditions. Linear working range 1.0 × 10 –8  − 7.0 × 10 –7  M, the limit of detection 6.1 × 10 –9  M, and limit of quantification 2.0 × 10 –8  M were calculated. The matrix effects studies were tried. The developed method using pencil graphite electrode was successfully applied for the determination of CP assay in pharmaceutics. Graphic abstract
