Summary:Vector perfect optical vortex (POV) has been found various optical applications due to its stable annular intensity profile and arbitrary polarization and phase distributions. Herein, a novel generation approach using a single geometric metasurface and a polarization analysis scheme of vector POV are proposed. The phase design of POV is a combination of an axicon, a spiral phase plate, a Fourier lens and a beam deflector. The perfection and vector characteristics of vector POV are qualitatively analyzed by the intensity distribution. The polarization distribution of vector POV is quantitatively analyzed by extracting Stokes parameters. Moreover, the corresponding intensity distributions of vector POV with different polarization states are mapped on the surface of the hybrid-order Poincaré Sphere. The proposed scheme is more attractive in polarization detection, optical communications, information encryption, and quantum information sciences.
