Summary:The authors have presented experimental data and theoretical investigations of turbulence induced by the chemical processes in the compression zone ahead of the blunt body flying in a multiatomic gas medium. The possibility of the flow instability just due to the physicochemical processes in the gas and to the flow curvature irrespective of the boundary conditions on the body′s surface has been substantiated theoretically. Conditions for the flow instability have been found analytically. The found conditions for the occurrence of instability are in good agreement with experimental investigations not only quantitatively, but also qualitatively.
