Summary:To investigate the structural response of sandwich panels loaded by impulsive loads, a systematic investigation has been conducted, and some experimental results are reported and discussed in this paper. Quantitative results were obtained based on the measurement in the tests by a pendulum with corresponding sensors, and then the deformation/failure patterns of front face and core were classified and analyzed systematically. Finally, an empirical equation is proposed to predict the back face deflection of the panels.
