Summary:An illustrated description for two species of free-living nematodes found in Lake Baikal and new to science: Hofmaenneria baikalensis sp. n. and Paratrilobus longisomus sp. n. is provided. The first species is very close to Hofmaenneria keoladeoensis Khan et al., 2005; H. niddensis (Skwarra, 1921) Schneider, 1940; and H. sitnikovae Gagarin, Naumova, 2010, but differs from these three species by the presence of crystalloids in the body cavity and three oval cardiac glands. Paratrilobus longisomus sp. n. is similar to P. expugnator (Tsalolikhin, 1976) and P. rapis Gagarin, 1991 in regards to body size, but differs from them in a relatively shorter and less slender tail and the presence of a subterminal seta at the tip of the tail.
