Summary:The paper presents the results of plasma chemical treatment of chitosan in solutions using DC discharge in air and discharge in vapor-gas bubbles at the surface of electrodes immersed in the treated solution. The obtained water-soluble fractions of chitosan were shown to improve seed germination and initial growth dynamics of pea, flax, and wheat. The higher chlorophyll content in the extracts obtained from plant leaves indicates the intensification of photosynthesis processes. It has been shown that low-molecular-weight fractions of chitosan significantly slow down the development of bacteria and fungi on the surface of seeds.
