Summary:Platinum-praseodymium oxide complex catalysts on carbon support material have been synthesized at different conditions. Various physical methods have been used to characterize the studied materials. The catalytic activity toward methanol electrooxidation was studied using electrochemical methods and results were compared to a platinum-cerium oxide containing catalyst as well as Pt-C catalysts. High activity toward methanol electrooxidation was observed for the synthesized platinum-praseodymium oxide complex catalysts.
