PVA-ZNO nanocomposites thin films for sensing devices

The PVA/ZnO composites were prepared by solution-casting technique. The prepared PVA-ZnO composites have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which confirmed the presence of ZnO in polyvinyl alcohol and the formation of the composite. AC conduct...

Summary:The PVA/ZnO composites were prepared by solution-casting technique. The prepared PVA-ZnO composites have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which confirmed the presence of ZnO in polyvinyl alcohol and the formation of the composite. AC conductivity of the nanocomposites was studied with respect to frequency. Finally, the sensing properties of these nanocomposites are also studied at room temperature.Maximum AC conductivity and sensitivity was observed in 50 wt% of ZnO in polyvinyl alcohol compared to all PVA-ZnO nanocomposites. These composites can be used for gas-sensing and super capacitor.
