Summary: | We have measured the temperature distribution in a head coil and air bearing surface at high-spatial resolution. It was found that an eddying current induced by high-frequency write-current significantly increases the temperature and also changes the temperature distribution. Measurement also revealed that an improved head structure would be a good way to reduce temperature increase and thermal protrusion in the head. |
