Summary:Artificial intelligence techniques have been applied to create systems that can give answers for different situations and assistance during the substation switching operation. These techniques have also been used for training purposes. This paper presents a computational package for training power substation operators in the control and corrective actions using expert system techniques. Illustrative examples are presented using a 138 kV CEMIG substation.
