Summary:The purpose of this study is to investigate numerically the combined effect of flame curvature, radiation, and stretch on the flame bifurcations, the extinction limit, and the extinction diameter of the cylindrical CH4/air flame with a detailed chemistry. First, the governing equations and chemical and radiation models are formulated. Then, extinction limit and flame bifurcations at equivalence ratios below and above the standard limit are calculated. The predicted results are compared respectively with those of the counterflow flame and with the experimental data. Finally, the extinction curve showing the flammable region of all the flame regimes is plotted and discussed. (AIAA)
