Reconstruction of the Shape of a Wavefront in the Presence of Large Phase Changes

A modified method of splicing ("sewing together") phases along their first derivatives is described. It is shown that in the presence of smooth sections of the phase surface it is possible to reconstruct the shape of a wavefront for large phase changes.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
