Ultra-high-stability two-stage superfluorescent fibre sources for fibre optic gyroscopes

A two-stage ultra-high-stability Er super(3+)-doped superfluorescent fibre source for fibre optic gyroscopes is presented. Versatile tunability of the output characteristics against fibre length and pump conditions enables minimisation of all temperature-induced instabilities.
