Summary:The copolymers of diallylaminotris(diethylamino)phosphonium tetrafluoroborate and chloride with acrylonitrile (DAAP-BF 4 -AN and DAAP-Cl-AN, respectively) have been prepared by free radical copolymerization. The sorption capacity of the copolymers toward La(III), Ce(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), and Gd(III) ions in sulfuric, hydrochloric, nitrate, and mixed (H 2 SO 4  + H 3 PO 4 ) media has been investigated. The DAAP-BF 4 -AN copolymer has higher efficiency in neutral media, with the DAAP-Cl-AN copolymer being more active in alkaline media. The both sorbents exhibit no activity toward lanthanum and neodymium ions in acidic medium. The kinetic regularities of the sorption process have been studied. The rate constants of external and internal diffusions have been calculated, with a high role of both external and internal diffusive processes shown.
